Cape Gooseberry

Delicate yellow, bell shaped flowers with dark purple spots in the throat of flower. The fruit is round and yellow/orange in colour enclosed in papery husk or lantern. The lantern dries when fruit is ripe. The skin fo the fruit is waxy. Pulp is juicy with many tiny edible seeds.

Habit - Small shruby plant with grey - green foliage. Velvet, heart-shaped leaves.

Size - 1m x 1m.

Pollination - Self-fertile.

Harvest - Summer through to autumn until the first frosts arrive.
