Edible Plants grown with love

Experience the pleasure that comes from growing, harvesting, sharing, and enjoying fruit – straight from your very own garden. As specialist edible plant growers, we’ve spent the last 20 years, lovingly propagating and nurturing hundreds of varieties of fruiting plants at our nursery in Katikati. The result is the most extensive range available anywhere in New Zealand, so you can choose the variety that’s exactly right for you, with the confidence that it’s been developed specifically for New Zealand growing conditions.

Having a garden is one of life’s great joys, reconnecting us with the earth, and helping us to savour the changes of each new season. We love each and every stage of the growing experience, and we hope that you will too.

Fiona’s pick of the month

Cape Gooseberry

Delicate yellow, bell-shaped flowers with dark purple spots in the flower's throat. The fruit is round and yellow/orange, enclosed in a papery husk or lantern. The lantern dries when the fruit is ripe. The fruit's skin is waxy, and the pulp is juicy with many tiny seeds.

Cape Gooseberries are small shrubby plants with grey-green velvety heart-shaped leaves. This herbaceous perennial will grow for several years, other than the very frosty areas where it can be grown annually.

Easy to grow in many well-drained soil types, a good trim in spring after frosts have gone and pinching new growth tips will see it grow into a beautiful bushy plant. Ideal for for any border and grows well in a pot. Cape Gooseberry
