Casimiroa Sue Belle

$0.00

Casimiroa is a rewarding tree to grow and is seldom bothered by pests and diseases. The foliage is rich green and is an excellent specimen for any garden. It is self-fertile, with pollinated fruit a larger size than unpollinated fruit.

Casimiroa Sue Belle is a selected hybrid, producing fruit with a flavour which is richly sweet and musky, resembling a combination of peach, banana and pear with a smooth texture. Pick the fruit while firm and changing colour from green to yellow. If picked too early, the fruit will taste astringent and unpleasant. Fruit can be picked with a gentle twist. Once harvested, the fruit will ripen quickly, cool storage will allow them to be kept for up to 2 weeks. Produces delicious orange-sized fruit from May to August.

Summer pruning might be required when there is lots of whippy growth, and trimming will encourage more branching, which will mature and bear fruit. By pruning the tree, you can control its height and spread.
